How do I set up an appointment?
You may either call the clinic at (858) 547-9803 or fill out our contact form and one of our therapists will reach out to you directly to conduct a quick intake (5-10 minutes). Once your case is assigned, your therapist will reach out to schedule your first session.
What if I want a specific therapist?
If you’ve looked at our team and decide you’d like a specific therapist, you may make that request when you contact the clinic and/or during your intake process. Based on availability and scheduling, we will try to connect you with your desired therapist.
What should I expect in the first session?
The first session is an assessment session, and gives you an opportunity to get a feel for your therapist and for your therapist to get to know more about you. This process allows our therapists to formulate a treatment plan to best meet your therapeutic goals in a timely manner. This is also your opportunity to ask any questions about the therapy process and what you should expect going forward.
Do I need to fill out any paperwork?
Yes – all new clients will need to complete the Informed Consent prior to the first session and many of our therapist ask that you to complete additional assessments. You may find the necessary forms here (please ask your therapist for the password) and should bring all your completed paperwork to your first session.
How often will we meet?
We have seen the most success with clients attending weekly sessions so you and your therapist can consistently and efficiently work towards meeting your goals. However, we recommend discussing the frequency of your sessions with your therapist.
How long do sessions last?
Typically individual sessions are 50 minutes, and couple and family sessions are 75 minutes. However, session length is a topic you can discuss with your therapist.
How much does therapy cost?
Rates will vary based on the experience level of the therapist. Our MFT trainees work from a sliding scale starting at $40/session. During the intake process, you will be quoted a fee based on your monthly income and the number of dependents you support.
Do you take insurance?
We do not take insurance; however, we are able to provide clients with a superbill they may use to submit to insurance for reimbursement.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards for payment. If you’d like to pay in cash, we ask that you bring exact amount as we do not have change.
What is your cancellation policy?
We ask that if you need to cancel a session, you give your therapist 24 hours notice to avoid being charged for the session.
